| THE HAIG VINTAGE RALLY 2007 |

Haig Vintage Car & bike Rally, sponsored by Haig & organized by Seventy Events in association with VCCCI, HMCI, WIAA & FIVA on 15th of April 2007 at Kala Ghoda.
Auto brands such as Rolls Royce, Bentley, Mercedes, Buick, Packard, Ford, Morris, Chrysler, Dodge, and Austin made the Rally a booming event. Total 184 vehicles participated in the Rally.
The endeavor created the ‘pull’ that the derby Race Days Command.
The ambience, décor and performances at this event resembled the classic features from the days of Vintage (1900-40) & Classic (1941-2007) periods with an underlying Scottish theme.
In Vintage Car category Hemant Kumar Ruia’s Austin ((1934) won the 1st prize.
In Classic Car Category Vinod Nayar’s Dodge (1947) & Nitin Dossa’s Bentley (1947) shared the 1st prize.

Mr. Chudasama and Mr. Ashar win the concourse.
Mr. Mota Chudasama won the concourse de Elegance in his Mercedes 500 K a very rare car and the only car in India appearing for the first time in a Vintage Car Rally.
Mr. Praduman Ashar’s Healey earlier owned by the Maharaja of Idar specially ordered from the Idar State which has never appeared for any Rallies in India and only 4 exists in the world, won the concourse the Elegance in the Classic car category.
Mr. Rahul Shah in his Rolls Royce 20 HP won the overall Rally.
In the ladies section, the All India Ladies Team of Hiral Dossa in a 1952 Chrysler won the Rally.
Shri A. N. Roy, IPS, Commissioner of Police, Mumbai, this time drove the 1947 Buick convertible and was assisted by veteran rally driver of yesteryears Mr. Vimal Shah were leading the Rally and could have won overall but left half way through as Mr. Roy had to attend an urgent meeting.
A record 174 entries were there which is the highest ever for any Rally in India.
The VCCCI will be holding its Annual Vintage Car Fiesta in the 2nd week of January 2008 with 200 entries.

To celebrate 100 years of Rolls Royce a Grand Rally was held on 26th December 2004.
Annual Vintage Car Fiesta was held at Mumbai on 22nd and 23rd January 2006.
Annual Vintage Car Fiesta was held at Pune on February 2006.

Government of India permission received to hold the INDO-PAK Freindship Rally New Delhi to Lahore.

The first car rally
in the country was held around 70 years ago in the late 1920s.
Today the tradition has been maintained by The Vintage & Classic
Car Club of India. The Club regularly organizes Car Rallies
and Exhibitions all over the country. Participation is open
to members as well as non-members, and the rallies are attended
(by participants as well as spectators) with great enthusiasm.
Some of the rallies regularly organized by the Club
are: Mumbai Rally, Jodhpur Rally, Jaipur, Pune Rally.
The Club also helped organise 'The Jewel of India' rally which
was held early in 1999.
The Club has instituted several trophies to be won
at the rallies like:

rally between Delhi and Mumbai has been planned by the VCCCI
on January 1st 2008.
